Beach Trip

Beautiful weekend=Beach Trip!!!
Here are some pics. We had a crazy car load with all of Allie-Ann's things and we took our dogs!!! ahhhhh. The things you will do to make sure all is happy in the family, dogs included. Luke had a great time AFTER he digested the starfish he ate on the beach. I had a great time until I got home and had to clean out the mound of sand left in the car from allie-ann's shoes. Kyle had a good time until he had to pack everything back into the car to go home and then unpack again when we got home. Rusty was happy because he got to sleep at a different place this whole weekend. Lots of fun, just wish we could have stayed longer.

Valentine's Weekend

We took Allie-Ann up to York this Valentine's weekend to see Kampa, Grandmama and cousin Lottie. Allie-Ann had a blast playing with Lottie, climbing the stairs to the attic, and helping with the Valentine cookie decorations. Kyle and I got a much needed night out on the town. We went to see Valentine's Day and afterwards went out to eat. It was going all so well until I got food poisoned. Ahhhhhh. It was awful and a Valentine's Day I will not forget, hopefully in the future we will just laugh about it but for right now I don't care to see chicken for awhile. And this restaurant Kyle and I just love but it just wasn't in the cards for me that night. I've never had that happen and I hope it will never happen again. It's the worse. But, we did have a better time the next day and took Allie-Ann to the York Museum. She saw tons of wild stuffed animals and they had a toddler center that was catered to her busy body. All in all it was a pretty good Valentine's so here are a few pics.

Snow 2010!!

We FINALLY got some real looking snow in South Carolina. It's hard to believe we were trekking in 7 inches of snow last night. Allie-Ann LOVES the snow but didn't quite know what to do with it. I tried to get her to taste some but she just puckered up her lips. I saved a bowl full for tonight's snow cream we are going to have. Yum. Here are pictures that we took yesterday and today, I'm afraid we won't have anymore pictures because the snow is all going to melt away but at least we get to enjoy it for one day.

17 months old today!

This picture says it all....she is definitely coming into her own. I've noticed a lot of changes this month as far as gaining independence from mommy, she really thinks she can do just about anything, so watching her is a top priority these days. As far as her vocabulary she can say about 23 words successfully, like cheese, please, milk, hat, bath, mom, dad, duck, bye, hi, hello, snack, rock, squirrel, lizard, Elmo, milk, fish, light, eyes, nose, truck, mine (new) and hand. She can tell you what a dog, cat, cow, pig, duck, snake, lion, tiger, dinosaur say, we are still working on horse, sheep, chicken and monkey. She loves coloring and stickers. She understands which side of the crayon you should write with and will turn it around in her hand to color. She is learning a few colors, yellow, red, blue. She knows that the sticky side of the sticker is what goes on the paper. I believe she will be right handed. She can kick, roll and throw a ball and run really fast. She loves to scream. Nap times are iffy but she does have a quiet time at least. When reading, she points out mommy and daddy in picture books. She loves letters and will point at them and babble. Anything white in the kitchen is milk. That's about all I can remember right now, so here are a few pictures that I took of her at 17 months.

Just Being Allie-Ann

She is starting to use her own language quite nicely now by saying...."mine!!" I found her trying to put a board book down the toilet, and let's see, she pulls Rusty's tail and laughs. What do we have in store for us??? She also knows how to climb down stairs and refuses to be held going down anymore, and just the other day I was wanting to rock her and she grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the chair just so that she could sit in it by herself. Here comes the 2's but she is so cute that I love every bit of it.

Since it was a rainy, cold day we decided to do some art projects. I got out stickers, markers, crayons and construction paper and she went to town. Allie-Ann loves coloring with crayons, especially on our walls, floors, and tables. It's funny how she will make one little mark when I give her some paper, but will go all out on the walls. hummmmmmm. Here are some pictures of her work.
