Mommy and Me

Last night Allie-Ann and I just hung out on the sofa. She was too cute, because she was really sleepy and was fighting going to sleep. I usually put her in her crib and she goes to sleep but it's summer so I'm spoiling her a little by having her lay with mommy and stay up later. She is at this age in her development where she is showing a lot of affection. Instead of giving kisses, I get a wide mouth slobber something. But, she loves to cuddle and hug. This morning we took her to the nursery for the first time at church. I think mommy has a harder time with this separation anxiety than Allie-Ann. They gave us a beeper if something should happen or if she gets fussy so all during church I kept watching the beeper but no sign. When we went to get her, she had this huge grin on her mouth like she had gone to Disneyland. So, I think we are good to go with the nursery now.

Father's Day Weekend

We have had a busy couple of days celebrating Father's Day. We spent a lot of time with family and friends and are now ready to relax a little bit. Allie-Ann enjoyed all of her time with the family. We took her to see Uncle Philips at the Farm. She got to pet goats and horses. She LOVED the goats and would squeal each time she saw one. The horses she was a little unsure about. But we know in a couple more years, she will love going out to the farm and Philip will soon become her favorite relative to visit. So here are some of the pictures we took.

9 month checkup and park

We took Allie-Ann to her 9 month checkup yesterday and everything is great. She is in the 75% for her height and 50% for head and weight. She was more fussy this time around as far as checking her ears and chest. The doctor told me that the fun has just begun. In fact, she screamed more to have her ears looked at than the shot. She was a trooper though. Lately, Allie-Ann has been real clingy to Mommy. I thought she might be sick b/c every time I come into the room she starts to get fussy and crawls over for me to hold her....uh, oh. So, I just knew she had an ear infection but the doc said that everything was great so I guess our little girl is becoming clingy to mommy. I also asked him if it was normal at this age in her development to move constantly. I mean, I can't even hold her she squirms so much and his reply was that she didn't have ADD, that it was completely normal. After the doctors visit, Kyle and I decided to plan an outing to the park, so here are some pictures.

9 months old today!!

Allie-ann is the BIG 9 months today. It's so hard to believe how fast time has gone by, but I really can't think about how life was without her either. She has made some changes, like wanting to walk instead of crawl. She has realized that it's much easier to walk than to crawl on the floor. She isn't quite independent with her walking and has depended on us to guide her but she's getting there. She loves it when I let go of her for just a second to see her stand on her own. For some reason she thinks it's funny. But, she is still a little scared to walk one-handed or no hands at all. She can crawl and sit up at any given second to play with toys. She knows how to climb all the stairs which isn't exactly good, so we have been looking for another baby gate to block the stairs. Kyle thinks he is getting her ready to climb mountains, so he insist that she is in training when I tell him I don't think it's a good idea to let her climb the stairs. She now will not sit in her tub for a bath, she wants to climb out and play in the big tub. She is saying all sorts of sounds like da da, ma ma, na na, la, ba, ca, her favorite is da da though. Her hair is getting longer and thicker, I might be able to pull it in a ponytail this summer. She loves to kick a ball, hasn't discovered how to roll a ball with her hands yet. She enjoys clapping for herself and playing with her blocks by taking them out of the container and putting them back in the container. Here are some pictures of her at 9 months, the best I could take and her first lapsit class at the library. She got to listen to stories, music, see a puppet show, and play with bubbles, but the best part of the class was all the other babies.

You can't see me..
Here I am

Can you find our sweet little girl in the picture?

Schools Out for the Summer!!

What a way to kick off the summer than a trip to the beach. Ahhhhhh. My mom and I took Allie-Ann to Kiawah for a couple of days without Kyle. Unfortunately, he had a summer class for work and couldn't come. But...trust me, he had his own little vacation with a free tv, no diaper changes, and r&r. Allie-Ann had another great time at the beach (Thanks Kampa and Grandmama for letting us stay at your place, next time she is staying with you guys and I'm staying at home with the free tv, no diaper changes and r&r...ha). She is starting to recognize things a little more, especially the sand and the ocean. We had the opportunity to sit her in the water and let the little waves rush over her, she seemed to like that a lot. Also, she loved digging in the sand with her toes. We took her to the pool each morning and the beach in the evenings. What amazes me about our little girl is how much she loves the water and the other children. She can be really shy around adults but when other children come around she wants to go right up to them. There was this family at the pool with their little boy and girl and Allie-Ann couldn't resist going up to the little boy to touch him. I had a hard time taking her away from the little boy so he could play and then she even started patting the daddy. I think she thought he was Kyle. She is just in awe of other kids so I think going to Ms. Wanda's next year will be a good thing. So, here are some pictures of the trip.
