This picture is priceless...

We went to the zoo yesterday, great time to visit, no one was there and all the animals were very active. Got this picture of Allie-Ann with the gorilla, thought it was too cute. Thanks Ann Wimberly for the coat, we've had the most compliments when she wears it around.

Christmas 2009!

What a whirlwind of a Christmas!!! We haven't been able to slow down since we got back from NYC. It was a wonderful Christmas though and we were able to see all of our family. We went to my brother and sister-in-law's house on Christmas Eve. We had a delicious meal, thanks Betsy, and opened presents. Then on Christmas morning we had our own Christmas blessings and breakfast. Allie-Ann ate her breakfast first of good ol' country ham, grits, eggs, and biscuits. Then we went to see what Santa had left under the tree. She had a great time playing with some new toys. We went to her great-great grandpa's house for Christmas lunch and opened more presents. Then we finally arrived in Blythewood for Kyle's side of the family at the Farm. It was crazy fun but we are tuckered and I know that Allie-Ann is ready to stay home for a while. In fact she is taking a really long nap today, which is how I'm able to blog. It was a fantastic Christmas with plenty of presents but the best gift is God's blessings He gives us each day.

I Love New York!!!

We made it back from NYC last night and what a trip!!!!!! For starters we didn't even think we would be able to get there because of the snow but our flight was not cancelled nor delayed, in fact we got to NYC earlier on Sunday. WHAT A CITY!!!!! It was all that I thought it was going to be and more. There is so much to write about but I will just hit the highlights.
Day one: Landing in snow, and trying to find our hotel with a crazy driver, they don't have any fear traveling in the city and in the snow. After we left our bags we went to Times Square to eat at Juniors. We had our first taste on NY Cheesecake, delicious. Then we walked a section of Central Park. It was beautiful with the snow and children sledding and ice skating. We then went to an early play of Billy Elliot (the best play I have ever seen, it was wonderful, I was so giddy when we left the play). It was packed full of special effects, dancing and singing and we had great seats right up front. Afterwards, we went to the top of the Empire State Building. It was late and COLD, but we didn't have to wait in any lines, which was great. When we got to the top, I didn't realize what a chicken I would be when we went out to look over the side, it was SCARY and I'm not the one to get scared over heights but that night I didn't want to stay out there very long, so needless to say we were there for about 15 minutes and left. Of course Kyle wanted to stay longer. After Empire we went to eat at John's Pizzeria, which is the famous pizza place in NYC. It was good but we had to wait a long time to get a table.
Monday: We went to the Brooklyn Bridge (awesome) and then we walked to Battery Park to do the Statue and Ellis Island. Loved the Statue, boat ride was miserable, and Ellis Island was an interesting venture. We then walked the financial district and saw Wall Street, NY Stock Exchange, and Stone Street. Pretty cool. Then we went uptown to FAO Swartz to do some Christmas Shopping for Allie-Ann. They had stuffed toys over a thousand dollars, it was crazy. We saw the piano, that Tom Hanks played on in the movie Big. Then we went to Rockefeller Plaza to see the Christmas tree again. Back to hotel to rest and get ready for broadway play South Pacific at the Lincoln Center. We went to eat at this Italian restaurant called Fiorello's which was delicious. They made homemade pasta and the atmosphere was out of this world. We then went to the play and about fell asleep during the last act. We both kept having to move around so that we wouldn't fall asleep. It was a great play but we were just soooooo tired. It didn't get out until the 11:00pm. We rode the subway back and I got to sit beside the actor who played the part of the engineer in the movie Titanic. It was pretty cool, because I recognized him right off. Kyle didn't but I knew it was him, b/c I've watched that movie way too many times.
Tuesday: Museum day, The MET and the Museum of Natural History, we spent about 3 hours at both but could have definitely stayed longer. We walked through Central Park again and we went to Bloomingdale's. Then as a highlight we went to eat at Serendipity 3. Which is the famous restaurant that movies such as Serendipity and One Fine Day were filmed in. We saw the man off the actor's studio there. We had eggs and a bean burger. Then the best part was the famous sundaes that they serve. It was bigger than the table we sat at. Back to hotel to make it a night.
Wednesday: Got up at 5:00am to be at the Today Show. Big mistake, it was 20 degrees with a windchill of 7. I've never been so cold, it was terrible, and to make matters worse, we were only seen on TV for a second. But we were on TV and it was fun to see Meredith and Ann. But, the best part was when we left we ran into Rob Marshall, the director of Nine and Chicago and I got a picture with him as he was about to get in his SUV. I'm sure he thought I was crazy. He is also going to direct the next Pirates of the Caribbean. Then we went back to pack up and head back home. It was a Wonderful Trip but I can't help to say that I will never leave Allie-Ann again for that long. I was miserable thinking about her and missing her. But, it was a fun time for Kyle and I and it just makes me realize each day how blessed I am to have met him and to be apart of his life forever.
