Day 5, 6

Today we went to the Na Aina Kai Botantical Gardens. It was a beautiful garden with lush Hawaiian plants everywhere. The girls were able to collect treasures at the gardens (they provided them with bags) by picking up fallen flowers and other things that had fallen off the trees. They were also able to feed the fish in the ponds. After the tour, they allowed the children to play in the water park that they had on site. It has to be the best playground I have ever seen. It was magical and creative in its design. The girls loved it! It was too bad that we could only stay an hour and that was the fastest hour ever. The gardens were truly a treat for all of us!
After the tour, we left to go to Hanalei Bay on the North shore of Kauai. It was a nice beach park that overlooked the mountains in the background as the girls' swam. The views here are incredible and at every turn you see something breathtaking. I'm in love with Kauai! We ate at Tropical Tacos in the local town near Hanalei Bay. Poor Belle was exhausted and slept the entire time at the food stop. The tacos, I must say, were delicious and a nice treat to refuel our tired bodies.
For dinner, we went to Plantation Gardens which is in Poipu. The dinner was outstanding and everyone left with content bellies. Our final stop for the evening was at Uncle's Shave Ice. We finally were able to get a taste of the famous shave ice here. And it met all expectations. The girls were in heaven. Tomorrow we are off to see the West side of the island....Waimea Canyon.
