The Good School

As a new parent I am always thinking of my children first. I've put my career on hold to raise my children to which didn't come without sacrifice but a decision that I feel very proud about. When I was a teacher my only goal was to make my students better academically and socially. I wanted to be successful in building these little minds into thinkers and readers. But now that I am a parent, I find myself thinking about Allie-Ann and Belle's educational future all the time. Where are they going to go to school, who will teach them better than me, how will they be challenged? I know it's early but not really considering that early literacy learning begins at infancy. I've been reading this book....



and I've only gotten a few pages in but it's been fantastic. I highly recommend to new parents who are also thinking about their child's education. Peg Tyre basically breaks down what to look for in a good quality school and in a good quality teacher. She begins with preschool aged and goes into middle school and I like what she has to say about private schools not exactly hosting the best quality education, it's all about being smart and to know what to look for and the questions to ask.
