Bathtime Fun

Can I just tell you how much fun Allie-Ann has in the bath tub. She absolutely loves the water and will splash around until there is hardly any water left. So.. I finally took some pictures, it's one of those things where I've asked myself, why haven't I taken a picture of her in the tub yet? So here are a few pics.

Just being Allie-ann

I took some pictures of Allie-Ann playing on the carpet. This past weekend we had to buy another baby gate and some other things to safety proof our house. We transformed our dining room into her playroom. It's just a big playpen for her to move around and be safe for the most part. Of course she is bumping into everything and doesn't know why it hurts. She is an active little one. She would rather be moving than anything else. Maybe she will be a runner or play soccer. She is also becoming more interested in feeding herself than mommy. So, I gave her the spoon to experiment with and sure enough, she put it in her mouth. She also knew to put it in baby jar for food, but she hasn't quite got the coordination for that obstacle yet. Anyway, here's more pictures.

I told you I could feed myself...

First Easter

Allie-Ann celebrated her first Easter and what a beautiful day it was. Easter always makes me realize the powerful gift the Lord gave for us. I'm so thankful each day and very blessed. We had a great spring break and Easter, and I'm counting the days we have left till school is out and I can spend more time with Allie-Ann. It makes it very hard when I can spend some days with her and then have to return to work. I just want to be with her all the time.

7 months old today!!!!

Allie-Ann is 7 months old today and she has made a lot of changes. For starters she is now able to creep, so we are having to watch her every move. She can move around to other rooms now so just wait until she can crawl. She is also using more consonants and vowel sounds when she babbles which is fun. Kyle thinks she is already saying "dada", but I think she is just learned her d sounds. She is also getting her two bottom teeth which has caused quite a stir in her. She constantly has her hands in her mouth chewing her fingers. We have been given her a teether ring which helps some. She is also starting to know when mommy comes in the room and will make crying sounds for me to pick her up. She's fine when I'm not in the room but as soon as I enter she wants me to hold her....uh oh. She can also go from a sitting position to her stomach when she wants to creep around to get something. Pretty fun times. So here are her 7 month pictures.

Kiawah Beach Trip

Be prepared for lots of Allie-Ann in this post. We went to Kiawah for a couple of days for our spring break vacation, thanks Kampa and Grandmama for letting us stay!!!!! Even though the weather was not ideal, it was fun all the while. Allie-Ann seemed to enjoy herself but what I think she liked best was playing on the floor with her toys. We went to the Aquarium in Charleston on one of the cold days and spent the day looking at all the sea life. We also spent some time at the fresh market shopping. We can't wait to take her back in the summer when it's warm enough to go swimming.

Our azaleas are in full bloom

The car after we finished packing all of Allie-Ann's things, crazy what you have to pack.

Allie-Ann at it again

So, she doesn't like her mobile anymore. It's a shame because it was so cool. When we hear it playing we know only one thing, she has pulled it down on top of herself again. Needless to say for safety reasons we have taken the mobile down. So, here are some pictures. Also, we have been giving Allie-Ann some fruit in a mesh baggie to chew on and she loves it. For spring break we are heading to Kiawah so more pictures to come.

Who me...I didn't do it...
Daddy caught a big one!!!!!
I think the mobile is much better down here with me.

Rally for Stimulus

Here are a few pictures of my fellow colleagues joining together at the State House for the Rally for the Stimulus. If Governor Sanford does not accept the stimulus package we will lose some of our teachers. This would mean a majority of our new teachers, which is sad b/c it used to be that in teaching you had job security. Also, the support staff has been cut, which is my job so I will be back in the classroom. Along with more overcrowded classrooms. So, keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

There I am holding my yellow sign that I made urging Mark Sandford to accept the stimulus
