First Trip to the Zoo!!

Allie-Ann went on her very first trip to the zoo today!! She enjoyed looking at all the animals as soon as we could get her up from sleeping. She especially liked the fish in the aquarium. Also, she enjoyed seeing all the people at the zoo. It was a beautiful day, high 60s, so we thought since we had some time off to go to the zoo.. So here are a few pictures.
Kyle took this picture on the other side to get the underwater feel, yeah, he likes the special effects.

Christmas 2008!

Allie-Ann had her very first Christmas with us and she didn't really know what all the fuss was about. She got to visit with all her family that gave her some pretty cool gifts. Santa came to visit her and gave a few play things for her to enjoy also. Here are a few pictures.

A Very Sick Allie-Ann

Well, we've had a pretty bad scare these last couple of days. Allie-Ann had to be admitted into the hospital Wednesday night. It's funny when a Momma just knows something isn't right. Allie had been under the weather and I thought I should take her to the doctor. I was going in to see if she had an ear infection and to check on her cough but what I found out was that Allie-Ann was a very sick little baby. She was wheezing and the doctor said she was not in good shape so they had to admit her to the hospital. I immediately went into tears, it's just something that I didn't want to hear. She hadn't run a fever and had been her same cheerful self except for a rough sounding cough. To make matters worse, I didn't even have Kyle with me, b/c we both were thinking it was going to be okay. So, I had to call him and give him the news. They ran x-rays of her chest and immediately put her on an IV, which was no fun at all. The test came back positive for RSV, which is an upper respiratory virus that causes infants to stop breathing (SIDS). Sure enough, she had to be put on oxygen that night. God was with us by putting her in the BEST place that night. To make a long story short, she is doing much better now. We are home (Saturday) today and doing well. She has to take five different medications though but she has definetly been a trooper through the whole ordell. All the nurses and staff fell in love with her, b/c they said they had never seen such a sweet spirited baby that was so sick. The hospital stay was nice for the kids because they had a parade and all kinds of people came by with stuffed toys. I will post pictures and a video soon of all of this. But, we are very thankful and blessed to have our little girl back home and well for Christmas.

3 months old today!!

Allie-Ann is 3 months old today! So far she has been a breeze to handle...ha. She can now roll over from back to stomach and stomach to back and can sit with head steady. She is making these strange noises though, that has been scaring Kyle and me. It's almost as if she is trying to growl like a tiger and working real hard to make it as loud as possible. She is still sleeping like a champion, which is great for me since I have started back to work. Also, I think she is starting to recognize the doggies b/c she's starting to smile at them now too. That's it for 3 months... until next month's milestones.

First Picture with Santa

This is our official first picture with Santa Claus!! She liked the big, jolly, old fellow. But, I know our time will come when she cries her eyes out. We saw a lot of kiddes crying today. Poor Santa.

First Christmas Adventures..

Well, we took Allie-Ann on her very first visit with Santa and the Christmas tree farm. We were at the mall bright and early but unfortunately so was everyone else. Kyle, once again, stood in line for us so that we could get our picture with Santa for the first time. We then went to the country to get our Christmas tree. Allie-Ann loved walking around the trees, all snuggled and warm. She didn't know quite what was going on, but had fun anyway. Now, we are home exhausted and ready to take a nap.
