Well, we've had a pretty bad scare these last couple of days. Allie-Ann had to be admitted into the hospital Wednesday night. It's funny when a Momma just knows something isn't right. Allie had been under the weather and I thought I should take her to the doctor. I was going in to see if she had an ear infection and to check on her cough but what I found out was that Allie-Ann was a very sick little baby. She was wheezing and the doctor said she was not in good shape so they had to admit her to the hospital. I immediately went into tears, it's just something that I didn't want to hear. She hadn't run a fever and had been her same cheerful self except for a rough sounding cough. To make matters worse, I didn't even have Kyle with me, b/c we both were thinking it was going to be okay. So, I had to call him and give him the news. They ran x-rays of her chest and immediately put her on an IV, which was no fun at all. The test came back positive for RSV, which is an upper respiratory virus that causes infants to stop breathing (SIDS). Sure enough, she had to be put on oxygen that night. God was with us by putting her in the BEST place that night. To make a long story short, she is doing much better now. We are home (Saturday) today and doing well. She has to take five different medications though but she has definetly been a trooper through the whole ordell. All the nurses and staff fell in love with her, b/c they said they had never seen such a sweet spirited baby that was so sick. The hospital stay was nice for the kids because they had a parade and all kinds of people came by with stuffed toys. I will post pictures and a video soon of all of this. But, we are very thankful and blessed to have our little girl back home and well for Christmas.
