Last Pictures from DC trip

No words, just pictures. Too beat to write much tonight. We traveled 8 straight hours to get home tonight and the girls were simply perfect again. So happy to be back home!

Allie-Ann said, "Look at that man made out of mud!!!" Too funny!

Do you wonder who took this picture...none other than Allie-Ann.
 She took this one too.

And this one...

Allie-Ann took this picture also, maybe she will love photography as her mommy does.

National Zoo and Air and Space

Today we went to the National Zoo and the Air and Space Museum. The zoo was pretty awesome and if only Belle could have been the slight bit happy we would have enjoyed it so much more..ha! We managed to see some pretty neat things at the zoo despite all of Belle's many moods.

After the zoo we ventured back down to the Air and Space museum. We knew in the past how crowded the Friday after Thanksgiving would be but decided to try for it anyway. Sure enough it was super crowded but we were lucky to get a parking space right by the entrance where we could go in and tour around and then head back to our car. So it was a quick visit in and a quick visit out. We really couldn't see much because of all the people but Belle and Allie-Ann were in awe of all the planes and rockets. You should have seen their eyes as they walked in....priceless!

After leaving the museum it was time to get something to eat for dinner since we snacked most of our lunch. We drove back to Old Town because I had read that they were having a festive tree lighting in the town square. We found this hole-in-the-wall place that served pizza for dinner...it was perfect. They also had wine which made it even better!! We had a great, tear-free dinner and made our way to the town hall to listen to carolers and see Santa Claus light the tree. Alexandria is such a beautiful little place, with all the unique shops and European feel. I could definitely stay here again! The girls absolutely loved the caroling and seeing Santa Claus but it was so cold! We decided to leave after the tree was lit to head back home to get into our warm pjs. It was a perfect ending to our stay here in Washington, DC!

Allie-Ann always has to have a map to navigate with.

Remember when I said that Belle wasn't having it at the zoo....here's what I mean.
Allie-Ann on the other hand loved every minute of the zoo, she had a ball!

I like this picture the best because you can see our shadows with the panda. This was too cool because we found the corner of the exhibit where no one was standing and there was the panda.

Here's another taste of what we dealt with at the zoo...poor Belle and poor us!! Ha.

At the Air and Space Museum!

At every museum stop we made Belle has always wanted to take a little break on the floor. Here she is at the Air and Space, at least this time she didn't sprawl out on the floor.

At dinner in Old Town...wine was definitely needed..ha!

This is how my evenings in the hotel went most nights.

The staff at our hotel were the best, this is what we came home to after they cleaned our room. Allie-Ann got a huge kick out of this. Too funny!

Having some pumpkin pie with a nice GLASS of milk...yes, my husband thought a 2 year old could handle it...ha!

Back home tomorrow...so sad to leave such an awesome vacation. We really did have a great time and much better than what I anticipated it being with a 2 and 5 year old. It makes me look forward to our many trips together in the future. I'm so blessed and thankful for our little family!!!
