Summer Beach Trip

It was awesome, the weather was great and we actually got some r&r surprisingly with an almost 11 month old. Allie-Ann is becoming more independent in the water and with play if you can call it being independent. She knew how to work her float this time in the kiddy pool, and loved every minute of getting around on her own. She also loves the waves and having daddy hold her while jumping the waves was too cool. She walked a lot on the beach, which surprised us both by her wanting to get around on foot. She played in the sand, and mud, which she thought was delicious, after I had to get it out of her mouth. She thinks everything needs to go in the mouth now that she is eating real foods. We went out to the Kiawah fresh fields concert Friday night to listen to some music and enjoy the crowds. It was wonderful, up until the point where it started raining but we did get to spend some time out there and listen to some good music. So, we are back home and ready for another vacation. Allie-Ann just smiled and smiled when we got home, she went straight for the stairs, I think she knows her home now.

Busy Weekend, Green dress

Allie-Ann had another busy weekend with family and friends. She spent Friday with her Kampa and Grandmama and went out to eat at Antai's which was wonderful!! She did great, it's kind of like a hit or miss with her and luckily she did great and loved eating the rice. Then on Saturday, she went to her very first birthday party at the lake. She went swimming and played with some of the other children at the party. Thanks Kate for inviting us, it was fun!! Then on Sunday we got dressed to go to church. I put on her new green dress that her aunt Shannon gave her. It looked soooo adorable, thanks Shannon!! So, I had to take some pictures of her in her dress and playing with her toys. This week we head to the beach for a little vacation before school starts back. So more pictures to come.

Walking at 10 months!!!!

Allie-Ann is walking like a champ. She is getting more confident each day and is now letting go and walking to places she wants to go. Before, it took us holding her and then letting go, to now, she lets go off on her own. It's amazing to see her walk and know that she is the one in control. It's not good for us, because now she will be into everything. So, Kyle took some video of her walking.

Dishwasher fun!!!

So as I was emptying out the dishes from the dishwasher, Allie-Ann made her way in to help mommy. See pictures below...I don't know what she likes more, pushing the tray back and forth or getting wet. She was so cute though.

Allie-Ann is 10 months old

Allie-Ann turned 10 months this weekend. We took her to Kampa's and Grandmama's house for the weekend, which was so nice because Kyle and I were able to go out to dinner and a movie. Ahhhhhhh. As much as I love and adore our little girl, it's nice to have alone time to just get out and have fun as adults. Thanks Kampa, Grandmama and Uncle Philip for watching her Saturday night!!! So, Allie-Ann is coming into her own at 10 months, she is even more aware of her surroundings. For example, now when I take her to the doctor's office she immediately starts crying. She now knows that this is not a fun place. We used to be able to put her in her crib at nights with no problems, no fussing, no crying, just one little content baby (for awhile we thought she wasn't normal) but now, Oh, NO, SHE CAN'T STAND HER CRIB AT NIGHT. She fusses when we put her in for bed and it takes her some time until she can self-soothe back to sleep. I think she must realize that she is alone, and not with mommy and daddy. On a more positive note, Allie-Ann can now take a few steps on her own. It's quite amazing to see her walking on her own. She is getting more confident each day. But, she is also very content with crawling. I know that walking full-time will be soon. She knows how to turn on and off light switches, she can stack a few blocks with some help. She has no trouble knocking the blocks down though. She is self-feeding like a champ, in fact, she is wanting to put everything in her mouth, even those things that aren't edible. It took time for her to figure out the cheerios but now she can put them in her mouth with no problems. We are feeding her green beans, squash, peaches, bananas, avocado, broccoli, waffles, toast, cantaloupe, cheerios, and yogurt, just to name a few. She isn't a fussy eater and we hope this continues. First 4th of July

Allie-Ann had her first 4th of July. We took her to the Peach Festival to see her very first parade. She was entertained for the first 15 minutes but then wanted to play in the dirt and walk around. We then grilled and watched some fireworks (on TV of course) because Allie-Ann was already asleep by the time it got dark enough to see some real fireworks, maybe next year she will be able to stay up longer. I must say, this was one of the best 4th of July. We didn't do a lot of traveling and it was low key, which was nice. Kyle grilled some hot dogs and corn on the cob and I made a peach cobbler. We also bought Allie-Ann a little swing for the backyard. So here are some pictures.

Day at the zoo and first carousel ride

We went to the zoo today, it was so nice and wasn't really all that crowded. Grammy went along with us to help out and see the animals too. We also rode the carousel for the first time today. Allie-Ann seemed to like it a lot and we were the only ones to ride, which was even better. So here are a few pictures.
